Cultural memory, personal memory, patterns of remembering, forgetting, writing, un-writing, rewriting, the “making and un-making of the world,” particularly as they relate to war-related trauma, have preoccupied and informed my artistic work as a kind of witness.
My studies at Wellesley College in art history, cultural theory, feminism, and photography were formative to my practice and later graduate work at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). My art history, curatorial, and visual art work have been made possible through the generosity of a Pamela Daniels Fellowship, Harriet A. Shaw Fellowship, RISD Graduate Studies Grants, the Plogsterth Award in Art History, an Alice C. Cole Award, and a St. Botolph Emerging Artist Award. My work has been exhibited across the United States and is several private collections as well as RISD and the Camera Club of New York.
